| Winterhaven Water and Development Company (WWDC) was formed in 1948 with one of its primary purposes to develop, operate and maintain a cooperative water company. This water company has provided water to the residents of the Winterhaven subdivision, located in Tucson, Arizona, since 1948.
WWDC is a non-profit cooperative utility company and is classified by the Arizona Department of Water Resources as a small municipal water company. Water distribution and water quality are under the supervision of a certified water operator and the overall operations of the water company are directed by a board of directors consisting of residents of Winterhaven. WWDC also employs a staff which manages the day to day operations of the company.
This website provides the residents of Winterhaven with specific information about how much water is pumped monthly and annually, results of water quality testing, and community water conservation efforts.
Over the past year the Winterhaven Board of Directors has created a water conservation program. These efforts include regular Using Water Wisely classes which feature presentations from local water conservation specialists, the replacement of all residential meters with more accurate, state-of-the-art, meters for precise measurement of water used by residents, the creation of this website to provide residents with accurate information about their water usage, rebates for the purchase of water-saving washing machines, water audits with a certified water auditor, and a new policy on the Remediation of High Water Use.
